As
an environmental chemist by profession, creating soaps by understanding the
chemistry of fragrance, the properties of fixed oils that are saponified, and an
understanding of botanicals is an exciting process. Regrettably, most people do
not even
wash with soap' but instead with detergent. Detergent destroys, soap restores.
Soap made with the abundant gifts from Mother Nature herself is not an artthat
has been lost, but has been forgotten. Artisan soap, made in small batches ,
skillfully combining the natural resources of the plant world, creates beauty to
the senses.and the.response from
your skin will be immediate and dramatic. Step into my world, and enjoy the
benefit-to both body and spirit.
All
soaps contain saponified vegetable oils ( olive, organic palm/palm kernel ,
coconut)
and
are superfatted with organic shea butter from Ghana). Soaps are preserved with
either rosemary extract and/or vitamin E. All
colorants are natural colorants from botanicals, minerals, or clay. Concentrates
of aloe and cucumber are made by crushing the plant, and the fluid is removed
from the flesh and used in place of water in the soap recipe. Essential oils are
just that, fragrance mixtures may contain essential oil and fragrance oils mixed
together. Natural essentials are not extracted by steam distillation ( steam
distillation is the process that produces all essential oils unless identified
differently)
